We’re excited to have Chef Danielle Alvarez in store with her stunning new cookbook, Recipes for a Lifetime of Beautiful Cooking!
Danielle is the most exciting home cook in the country right now. She has just been announced Culinary Director at the Sydney Opera House and she has a regular column in the Good Weekend. Before that she was Head Chef at Fred’s in Paddington which under her stewardship won Gourmet Traveller’s Best New Restaurant of the Year.
Danielle’s food is universally acclaimed and everyone from Neil Perry to Adam Liaw, Skye Gingell to Ostro and Claudia Roden have lined up to endorse her new book.
Her new book is about cooking at home, with family and friends. These are dishes that taste better because you cooked them. It draws on Danielle’s love of Italian and French food, her Cuban roots, time spent cooking in California and then Australia, and all the incredible Asian influences that have flavoured her time in Sydney.
Some of the best dishes around the world have been created from a place of scarcity, whether that be time, money or the ingredients available. This book respects the best ingredients and also finds a use for those that might need a little help, with every recipe designed to help you find happiness in the kitchen.
It’s simple, home cooking at it’s most delicious!
Danielle will be demontrating how to make a classic flaky pastry, something home cooks struggle with. Then she will turn it into Pissaladiere, a classic French dish she learnt at Chez Panisse
Danielle will be signing her new book after the demonstration.
