Although it has been in publication for a short time, the semiannual Fool has been perhaps the most eagerly anticipated magazine we offer. Adventurous and insightful, it makes connections between different elements in the world food scene that most other publications seem to overlook. In this issue, long features on Sean Brock (who graces the cover) and David Thompson explore their passion for preserving and expanding local cuisines. The legendary Kyoto restaurant Miyamosu is profiled in detail; Magnus Nilsson presents a history of Swedish cuisine; Kobe Desmaeraults talks about his tattoos; and Matt Orlando reflects on leaving Noma to open his own restaurant in Copenhagen. Beautifully evocative photography and fine printing values enrich the reading experience significantly.
