Our Plum Chilli Paste is the perfect match for creamy cheeses like triple cream brie, and sharp and crumbly cheddars. Your tongue will first experience the deep sweetness of plums followed closely (and sneakily) by a little gentle heat.
We source our quinces from Nicky’s family farm in the Stanthorpe region. Due to the long, slow growing season of quince they often get damaged during hail storms. These fruit show large indented scars and make them unsuitable for the fresh produce market. We are willing to spend some extra work in the kitchen to cut out all those damages and make use of the fragrant leftover fruit flesh.
We have sourced Australian grown plums with lumps, bumps and scratches to hand craft this spread for you. Not too sweet, with warming notes of cinnamon our Spiced Plum spread is delicious on scones, stirred into porridge or in a rich red wine sauce.
Between November to March we follow Australia’s stone fruit growing season to gather up unwanted Nectarines, from Queensland’s Stanthorpe region all the way down to Victoria.
We often work with very ripe or hail damaged and ugly fruit, but despite appearances, we always end up with a beautiful product that traditional chutney lovers will appreciate the most. In order to maximise our food waste fighting impact we create this product from either yellow or white nectarines, and this is why you might notice some slight colour and flavour variations from batch to batch.
