Delving deeply into home, work, style and culture, Kinfolk promotes quality of life and connects a global community of creative professionals from London to Tokyo.

Issue 37 of the celebrated lifestyle magazine focusses on a return to nature.
The importance of nature for both our personal wellbeing and global prosperity has never been clearer. With a cautious return to the great outdoors now on our shared horizon, Kinfolk heads out into nature and celebrates its power. In a special themed section, we’ll heed the enticing call of the wild and take a leap beyond the confines of urban life.

We’re heading to some of the world’s most extraordinary natural sites, including a trip to China’s majestic Stone Forest for our cover shoot. We’ll also be imagining natural wonders of our own, creating “dream landscapes’’ with the celebrated CGI artist Alexis Christodoulou. Readers will be introduced to the inspiring work of primatologist Jane Goodall, as well as to some charismatic “animal influencers,” and receive tips on everything from eating insects to plant-scaping at home. There’s also an exclusive excerpt from our forthcoming hardcover book, The Kinfolk Garden, publishing October 2020. Our feature profile takes us into the home of iconic designer Helmut Lang (TBC). We’re also showcasing some of Kinfolk’s most inventive shoots to date as the magazine’s contributors work creatively within lockdown measures — by flying drones for a fashion editorial, recreating home tours in miniature and letting loose with self-portraits. Elsewhere, through long-form journalism and shorter essays we explore subjects such as why pop-science books are booming, what it means to be a hot mess and what, if anything, you would be able to teach a caveman.
